RIFT joins Google Cloud’s Global Mobile Edge Cloud ISV Initiative

RIFT is pleased to join Google Cloud’s Global Mobile Edge Cloud (GMEC) ISV Initiative. RIFT’s RIFT.ware™ Orchestration and Automation suite can be deployed on Google Cloud, where it can be used to automate the design, deployment, and operation of multi-vendor 5G slices and other virtualized network services on Google Cloud or any virtualized infrastructure.

“With Anthos and 5G networks, organizations have an opportunity to leverage cloud capabilities at the network edge to transform aspects of their businesses and provide new experiences to consumers,” said Tanuj Raja, Global Head, Strategic Partnerships at Google Cloud. “We are excited that RIFT will bring its solutions in network automation and orchestration to Google Cloud, providing capabilities that will help customers rapidly deploy new applications and services at the edge.”

Google Cloud continues to build upon their Ecosystem to leverage cloud capabilities at the edge using high-speed, 5G connectivity. Their Global Mobile Edge Cloud (GMEC) strategy delivers an open cloud platform to deliver network-centric applications and a global distributed edge for deploying solutions. This technology also leverages Anthos as a common platform to allows service providers to define and automate consistent polices and security in deployment life cycle configuration and then run these applications on-premise or in the cloud. Building upon these solutions, Google Cloud is introducing their 5G Edge ISV Initiative to enable existing global networks to reduce latency, lower the cost of delivery and services and eliminate the need to transport data from the edge to a central location from real-time computation.

Network Automation & Orchestration are key components for the successful launch of 5G services on Google Cloud’s platform. RIFT.ware™ provides a truly open platform that bridges the carrier and web-scale domains through the development of RIFT.ware™, a next generation, model-driven, standards-compliant NFV Automation & Orchestration product with carrier grade capabilities. RIFT.ware™ provides a solution that simplifies the onboarding, cataloguing, and deployment of Network Functions (NF) and Network Services (NS) using low-code practices that empower devops teams. RIFT.ware™ also automates the Life Cycle Management of these network functions and services to enable zero-touch operations across any cloud environment and technology domain.

As a company, RIFT recognized the promise of container-based network functions early on and RIFT.ware™ is today the only orchestrator capable of single-click import of third-party cloud native applications and Network Functions, having onboarded 5G containerized network functions from multiple vendors. Once onboarded, RIFT.ware™ empowers the Service Provider to use the same CNF template in all varieties of services from 5G slicing to MEC and SDWAN, spanning multiple locations from the CSP’s datacenter to Google Edge Cloud.

As with all RIFT’s offerings, RIFT.ware™ fully conforms to best available open specifications including TM Forum, 3GPP, and ETSI. RIFT’s commitment to open standards ensures ease of integration and no vendor lock-in.

RIFT is pleased to be part of Google Cloud’s GMEC initiative and to deploy our automation and orchestration suite on Google Cloud. These services will allow customers to rapidly deliver and deploy new vertical services and applications by leveraging Google Cloud core components and Google’s global edge network.
